I went to the Old Vic last night with Rach to see the play Six Degrees of Separation. I really enjoyed it. It was a nice way for Rach to wind down after her viva and I felt like I needed a break too.

The last few weeks have been busy and stressful, since I have mostly been trying to sort out what I'm going to do once my PhD comes to an end, as well as trying to actually finish my calculations and write my thesis.

On the job front I have been very fortunate. I had interviews for two fantastic jobs and in the end I was offered both! After some consideration I chose a position at the LSE and I'm so excited! There are so many reasons why the job appealed to me in the first place and now I can't wait to throw myself into it and tackle a new challenge. The Boy is also excited at the prospect of moving into London and being just around the corner from both our sisters.

On the work front things have been moving a little more slowly. I'm sure every student reaching the end of their PhD feels exactly the same, but I feel completely snowed under with a to do list that only ever seems to grow! I'm struggling with the thesis writing at the moment and still have some calculations to do, but I have a deadline to aim for now that I have a start date for the new job. It's going to be tough, but doable, especially as I find there is nothing like a deadline to give me the kick up the backside that I need!

I think I may make a trip to see my folks next week in attempt to lock myself away from the world and make some progress, but first I will be heading to watch the England v. Ireland rugby legends match tonight with the Boy and some uni friends.
