I am at a conference in Sweden this week, located in Bjorkliden, north of the Arctic circle. The scenery here is beautiful and there are several adventures that have been organised for our stay, including a trial dog sled ride, a snowmobile trip to see the Northern Lights, not to mention skiing, and of course some physics talks too.

The journey to get here was also an adventure, with an 18 hour train ride through the wilderness (or an even more eventful plane journey from Stokholm so I here from my colleagues!)

The only down side is that I am yet to finish writing my talk, which is on Thursday morning and there is no internet connection in my room, so I am having to use the wireless connection in the bar so that I can access my data on the university servers to finish making my graphs for the slides. Only, I'm in a bar... and there is alcohol here and other conference delegates who have more fun things to discuss. Still if I get it done now, I can concentrate on other things in the breaks, like writing my thesis as time is running rather short for me now to complete it before I start my new job :o(

It will be nice to take a couple of days to chill out at the end of this week though as the Boy is joining me for the weekend in Stockholm.
